I’m an Egyptian-Canadian creative producer who works within the intersection of football and fashion, collaborating with the likes of Gigi Buffon, Olivier Giroud, Memphis Depay, Romeo Beckham, and AC Milan.

I have been living in Bavaria, Germany for the past decade so would love to share my favourite spots in Munich. I feel like the Euros is a display of how communities can come together to support each other to win and to excel. It’s a testament to the power of unity. It serves as a reminder that even in tumultuous times, creating spaces for community remains crucial.

EAT.

Your eyes and taste buds are in for a treat at Giorgia Trattoria which offers delicious, authentic Italian cuisine. Adorned with vibrant design, including flower motifs from floor to ceiling, every corner invites exploration—even the bathroom. On a similar theme - Gigi Trattoria is another Italian I would recommend.  Get the oysters and lobster linguine.

For something more informal, Max's Beef Noodles is a low-key restaurant offering authentic Chinese cuisine with handmade noodles. You may have to wait in line, but it’s worth it. Also, try Fairfax Express, which serves up burgers and spicy Korean chicken sandwiches.

DRINK.

Mira Café is a cozy cafe, filled with design books, art and vinyl. Come for the coffee and stay for art. Lost Weekend is another café, but with a bookstore. It’s ideal for coffee with friends or getting some work done on your laptop.

For more traditional drinks, there’s The High Bar, a great option for cocktails & mocktails infused with fresh herbs from their garden.

Die Goldene Bar is connected to the Haus der Kunst. I highly recommend exploring the exhibition first and then heading to the bar, which features a beautiful interior and spacious exterior terrace overlooking the English Gardens.

WATCH.

The most German place to watch the match would be a beer garden - outdoor, surrounded by nature and the summer breeze. The beer garden at the See Haus in the English Gardens is my favourite - a bit posh, but an unreal setting. Enjoy the game on the big screen under the trees with a lakeside view. If you are looking for something hyper local, then head to Stadion an Der Schleissheimer Strasse. It's an institution; walls adorned with jerseys and football scarfs.

Another good choice is the Olympia Park which was constructed for the 1972 Summer Olympics. During the Euros, it’ll be transformed into a fan zone with public viewings of all 51 matches.

PLAY.

Bellevue di Monaco is the ultimate place to play football in Munich - a cultural center in the heart of Munich with a rooftop football pitch. Play football and enjoy the cityscape. If you are looking for a place to play a friendly pick up game - the English Gardens is also a great central spot.

SHOP.

If you’re after sneakers and streetwear, head to BSTN Flagship. Lodenfrey is a lux department store, a Munich staple that’s been around since 1850. With 6 floors, you will be sure to find everything you need.

For a more niche experience, head to Sois Blessed a concept store with a flower shop and café.

Soda Books & Magazine Shop has you covered for all your art and design needs. It carefully curates a selection of beautiful books and international magazines.
